1. T-Ball Spieltag
Trotz leichtem Regen waren am Sonntagmorgen fleissige Helfer damit beschäftigt, das Spielfeld für das T-Ball Spiel auf dem K1 in Therwil vorzubereiten. Um 11 Uhr war es soweit und die Teams starteten das erste Inning. Die Therwil Flyers spielten gegen die Egales aus Luzern die noch durch 2 Spieler der Kobras verstärkt wurden. Da war er, der Moment auf den die Kinder so lange gewartet haben. Endlich spielten sie gegen ein anderes Team und konnten zeigen was sie in den Trainings geübt haben. Voller Motivation wurden die Bälle geschlagen, gefangen und geworfen.
Leider wurde (wie diesen „Sommer“ fast immer) der Himmel immer dunkler und nach ca. 2 Durchgängen begann es so richtig zu schütten. Petrus ist wahrlich kein Baseballfan, mit mir hat er es auf jeden Fall für längere Zeit verspielt. Schnell begaben sich die Spieler ins Trockene und währendem die Helfer das Beizli zusammen räumten, begaben sich die Mannschaften in die Turnhalle K2 um dort das Spiel fortzusetzen.
Ob draussen oder drinnen spielte für die Kinder keine Rolle. Hauptsache Baseball. Es wurde um jeden Ball gekämpft und jeder erfolgreiche Spielzug wurde lautstark gefeiert. Die Begeisterung war spürbar. Es war eine Freude zu sehen wie enthusiastisch die Kinder spielten. Verglichen mit dem ersten Einsatz vor ca. 8 Monaten konnte man bei den Flyers grosse Fortschritte erkennen. Starke Hits quer durch die Line-Up sowie einige schöne Outs auf First Base und Second Base konnten erzielt werden. Am Ende des Spiels konnte man lauter fröhliche Kindergesichter sehen die einen tollen Tag mit viel Baseball hatten.
Bedanken möchten wir uns bei den Spielern sowie den Eltern der Eagles sowie der Kobras die den Weg nach Therwil auf sich genommen haben, allen Flyers Eltern die kräftig gebacken haben und dafür gesorgt haben, dass keiner hungrig nachhause ging. Der Putzequipe die beide Turnhallen blitzblank geputzt haben gilt ein besonderer Dank. Ohne den Einsatz aller Helfer wäre es nur schwer möglich ein Spiel auf die Beine zu stellen.
Zu guter Letzt noch ein grosses Dankeschön an Sophie sowie Heidi die als Head Coache bzw. Assistent Coache das T-Ball Team der Flyers betreuen und Woche für Woche grossartige Arbeit leisten.
Despite a little bit of rain, the Flyers T-Ball Crew was preparing the field at K1 for the game. At 11 o’clock the first inning started. The Therwil Flyers where playing against the Eagles from Luzern which added two pick up players from the Kobras to their line-up. Finally there was the moment the kids were waiting so long time. They play against another team and they can show what they practiced the past months. Hitting the balls, catching the balls, throwing them to first base, the kids were motivated to show their best.
Unfortunately (as always this “summer”) the sky became darker and darker and after two innings it’s started to rain cats and dogs. Petrus isn’t a baseball supporter and after this day need to talk some serious words with him!
The kids and parents were hiding from the rain and while the Flyers crew closed down the food corner the Teams moved to the gymnastic hall K2 to continue the game.
For the kids it doesn’t matter if they play inside or outside. Just play Baseball. They fought for every ball and cheered for every successful play. It was a pleasure to watch how enthusiastic the kids they were playing.Compared with the game 8 months ago there was a big progress in the game of the Therwil Flyers. Strong at bats through the whole line up and some successful plays on first and second showed that they improved their skills.At the end of the game you only saw happy kids which had a nice day with a lot of Baseball.
We want to say thank you to the players and parents from the Eagles and from the Kobras to take the way to Therwil. A big thank you to all the parents that contributed to the food corner, it was delicious.Not to forget the persons that helped to clean the gymnastic halls. Thanks a lot! Without all the helping hands, it would not be possible to organise such a game.
Last but not least a big thank to Sophie and Heidi. As a head coach resp. assistant coach they look after the T-Ball team and give their best in every practice week after week.
