Final - Therwil Flyers sweep on the weekend

The Therwil Flyers faced the Zurich Challengers at Therwil on September 28th and 29th in the first two games of the NLA final. Pitching dominated game 1 with the Flyers winning 3-2. Hideori Oshima pitched 10 innings allowing only 5 hits and one earned run, Takanobu Oshima received the win finishing the game with 3 innings pitched, 3 strike outs, and 1 earned run. Adrian Kaufmann singled to left in the 3rd to score Hideori to put the Flyers 1-0, the Challengers answered in the 5th with a run of their own. The Challengers scored in the top of the 11th to go up 2-1 and things looked bleak for the Flyers. With Chris Horne on second after a base on balls and a steal, with 2 strikes and 2 outs Michael Kratz hit a game tying double to send the game to the 12th. In the 13th Hideori Oshima hit a two out triple followed by Chris Horne walking it off with a single to left center. In game 2, the Challengers started the game scoring a run after an error by Justin Gil. However, in the next half inning a lead off double by Justin, followed by a single from Takanobu Oshima, a double by Adrian Kaufmann, and a single by Rafael Eigenmann saw the Flyers scoring 3 in the first inning. After that William “Straight Cash Homie” Greenfield, locked in and dominated with 15 strike outs, allowing 3 earned runs, on 6 hits, in 9 innings of work. The Flyers took the lead in the 6th with an infield hit to shortstop by Stefan Koller and a daring heads up move by Rafael Eigenmann to score. The final score of the game was 4-3. The Flyers are set to play the Challengers in Zurich on Saturday looking to close out the series 3-0.
